1.Introduction

NCINCI NDIQALA (loosely translated into small beginnings) is a local, family-run and women-led recycling and waste management company specialising in the purchase, recovery and collection of recycling material as well as the removal and disposal of hazardous waste

2.Problem

Illegal Dumping and Pollution with Hazardous Substances are rife in Cape Town. A big part of these problems are caused by Accessibility Issues and/or Laziness.

Pollution Through Illegal Dumping Spreads In Many Illegal Dumping Presents Health And Safety Risks And Costs This City,Millions In Clean Up Each Year Ways. Accessibility To Waste Disposal Method
Hazardous wastes and chemicals can enter both soil and water streams affecting those directly related to it such as drinking water for humans and animals and even soil for growing food. Even worse when rubbish is burnt and the toxic smoke and chemicals enters our breathing air. It is not only an eyesore but also one of the biggest contributors to localised flooding in severe weather conditions. Often illegal dumping is considered easierto the local. The City provides us with so much infrastructure for waste and disposal butitis not always easily or even cheaply accessible. Businesses especially are usually susceptible to these tactics and often avoid responsibility for waste as time usually equals money.

3. Value Proposition & Solution

We specialise in the Collection, Recovery, Removal and Disposal of both Recycling Material and Hazardous Waste.

4. Underlying magic

We offer purchase and remove all recycling material streams. Including ferrous, non-ferrous, used goods and e-waste.

We also offer a specific collection and disposal service for all garage forecourts and workshops. The Removal of Hazardous Waste. These oil cans are safely processed and eventually processed into bigger recycling streams.

What makes our service unique is that we eliminate the need for transportation on you as the customer. We do all labour removals, sorting, transportation, storage and disposals ourselves. You simply need to establish the waste to be removed, hazardous or not, and our team takes care of the rest.

If you are business that produces lots of paper, plastic or scrap as waste for example, we will purchase that from you with our own removal and transportation crew and now your waste generates an income. Thus encouraging recycling and even job-creation with a bit of creative thinking.

5. Team

6. Accomplishments & Highlights

  • 2021

    Hazardous Waste Accreditation received

We are accredited by both the ROSE Foundation and the City of Cape Town for the Handling, Transportation and Disposal of Hazardous Waste.

This enables us to provide you with peace of mind and a clear conscience when it comes to knowing that your waste was properly processed and disposed of.

  • 2020

100 Customers on collection route per month!

  • 2019

    First Collection Vehicle

As you can see, our business is oriented around the fact that we collect.

Many businesses and homes unfortunately do not have time to sort and re-sort, drive away and even land fill their waste. Especially so when working with hazardous waste.

The acquisition of our vehicles became a crucial point in our operation and growth as we do not wait for work to come in but rather go out and seek it, making the service available and convenient for all by bringing waste management to you.

The benefit on-top of that is that we are even willing to purchase your sorted recycling material. We'll come to you, sort and remove, weigh on site, payment immediately and you earn an income through waste.

This project will benefit all from home and business owners to trolley-boys in the street and even corporations like SAPS and the WCED. It is an opportunity for all to get involved.

7. Revenue & What's Next ?

Revenue

Over the past 12 months, our collections service has generated a consistent R20 000 per month. This is based off collection fees only for120 collections per month.

If we are able to process our plastic by means of cleaning and grinding into smaller bits and pieces, we will maximise profits as the service is paid for and the recycling material processed is self-sustaining.

We collect on average 4000 KG of plastic through this collection service per month and through the purchase and removal we move upwards of 20 000 KG per month of all recycling material.

We would be happy to share all our STATS with you guys on request!

Our SMME is registered and Tax-Compliant, Level1 - BBBEE company.

Next Step - Growth

While it goes without saying that our next step would be to increase our client database. Thatis correct.

We currently service 130 ofthe 1 300 garage forecourts that exist in the Western Cape (excluding workshops and any other waste industry customers).

But before expansion, we want to scale our production side of things. We want to start our own processing site where we clean, cut, shred and bale all our collected plastic from the already paid for, collection service.

We also aim to expand collection further in-land (outside Cape Town) and have started footholes in remote areas like, Hermanus, Caledon, Piketberg and Montagu.

With 1 300 potential customers, we already have the vehicles, staff, experience and accreditations, we just need a location/premises with machinery to start our own processing plant.
